Landscapes and its conceptual meanings

Lea Mugnaini’s landscape works revolve around the coexistence of intuitive abstract forms and figuration.
In her practice, she utilizes her archetypal shapes to outline metaphysical landscapes. By this mean, the artist seeks to explore and portray how we relate to the places that sourround us.

The cardboard is the support where she lengthens, stretches and alters each element in order to understand the relation between form, distance and interraction.
She appropriates codified nature elements (such as volcanoes, trees, rivers, mountains) and translates them in her own individual language, to challenge the way we understand a form. Through her own specific vocabu- lary of shapes and form, Mugnaini’s work aims to establish an universal language that can speak to everyone.
